The Deirdres - Why Do My Glasses Give You The Heeby Jeebys? (EP) (2008)

The Deirdres are a Derby, United Kingdom based band often likened to a happy clappy school choir, and described as playing ‘rawkus musical nonsense’.

Located in the strange music scene of Derby, England, the Deirdres currently consist of 7 members: Gemma Wood, Sophie Barker, Louise Croft, Robert Fairs, Russell Lomas, Keir Thomas and Amy Burchell.

The band rose to fame in October 2006 when they appeared on the BBC Antiques Roadshow programme, where they performed the theme music, much to the delight of Michael Aspell and the crowd. An appearance of Challenge TV soon followed, and the band started playing gigs later that month, making their debut at the Halloween party of the Greyhound pub in Derby. A year later, and the band released their first single ‘Dinosaurs That Can Swim’ on ltd edition 3 inch CDs, with Cloudberry Records, and almost a year after that the band released an EP called ‘Why Do My Glasses Give You The Heeby Jeebys’ with Cosy Recordings.
